I don't remember, but I don't think it was all that long. I mean like 20 seconds or so.

Does your microwave have a defrost setting? That’s the only setting I’ve been able to use with butter for longer than 5 seconds without things getting sketchy

I microwave butter on the regular setting all the time. Well, not all the time but still. Anywhere from 10-30 seconds.
