I have to teach the seniors every year right before graduation. Most have never dressed up. I always get donated ties from the community and let them pick. It's hilarious to see these "tough guy" kids learning to tie their ties, tongues sticking out, talking to themselves, having their buddies straighten it for them...

Why are you tearing a tie off?

I can think of two reasons.

My son will be that kid. Last time he dressed up was at 3yrs for my sister's wedding. He only wears t-shirts/hoodies and shorts/sweatpants. That's it. He doesn't even own a pair of jeans.

For grade 8 grad He wore his usual getup, plus a squid hat.

clip-on ties ftw. For a while they had these ties for kids that were sewn around a zipper. They may still for all I know, I will not force my boys into neck nooses
