Isa's Homestead Happenings and Hangout

1. Red Tailed Black Shark
2. Giant Betta
3. South American Cichlids
4. African Cichlids

Pick 2, I'm going with #1 for sure.
I wouldn't keep a betta with any of those personally.

I wouldn't do less than 10 gallons for the betta, small tanks are a pain in the @$$ to clean, trust me.

The others, I'd do a 100 gallon at minimum, not sure if the shark would need more though. They get big

I - lol - probably should have put more effort into the post, will need 3 or 4 tanks 😁

I see. Personally I would do 10 gallon for the betta, and 100 gallon minimum for the others.
Yeah my post left a lot to be desired there heh.

So I'm going to get the Red Tail alone, with some compatible community fish so I'll at least need a 30 gallon there.

For the Beta it's a giant so it would need even bigger. https://splashyfishstore.com/collections/giant-betta

The cichlids could be theme tanks or mix and match, but would need probably a 55 or larger.

DW and I would book the standard trip to Cancun for three days and do the tourist stuff. BUT I would have them schedule the return flight a week later. Then we could rent a car and travel around the Yucatan on our own. We climbed pyramids, swam in cenotes and on beaches with no one for 10 miles in either directions. We slept in grass huts on the beach, floated down rivers, captured crocks at night with a Marine Biologist and fished in a National Park 🤫 (What is the statute of limitations in Quintana Roo?)
I suppose it is more dangerous now. But people say that about New Orleans.
Point being it was a blast each time. It is a sin to me that so many people seem so anxious about traveling or adventure. And take pictures so you can prove it later.
Loved Cancun. Went in August of 2001

Do not put South American and African cichlids together. They have different water needs and you will slowly kill them. Bettas do not go with any of those as they will nip the bettas fins off. I bred African cichlids for years, miss that tank very much
