Technically yes, but I would only keep then with other Cichlids. They're not very nice.

I haven't kept sicklids, but I thought I read somewhere to keep sicklids with sicklids.

Actually why don't I just use my old stock tank brooder? I've already got the sand.

Africans need brackish water with a higher ph level than South Americans. When I had my Africans, I put salt water shell type sand in there to keep the ph high enough
