Someone once told my mom (@Old Grey Mare) that there are yankees and "damn yankees". A yankee visits the south and leaves. A damn yankee stays. She will tell you she's a proud damn yankee.

She just tried fried yellow squash for the first time last summer. I had no idea. She loves it! Not as much as her fried green tomatoes though.
