I'd guess he's probably around 5 feet.

True story, when I was a teenager friend and I decided to go Alligator hunting at night. We got the idea from frogging at night. We would go frogging at night in the marsh and while in a pirogue ( verysmall boat) it would be soon dark We couldn't see anything except where the lights were pointed . While in the boat all of a sudden we would feel slight taps against the boat and we soon noticed a few babies about 2 or 3 feet long swimming on side of us tapping the boat. Pirogues ride very low in the waterline an inch other were like right there. So we got the idea to fish for Alligator from the shore. We got big saltwater fishing poles and put a metal leader on it with a treble hook atthe end and the top probably about 12 inches from the end. We then put a big popping cork on it between the 2 hooks. Got there shined to see thier eyes (they have red eyes that's how you know it's a gator and not a frog) and cast passed him and reeled the cork past his nose. He swam up behind it and grabbed it. We set the hook and it was on. Long story short weeded up shooting a hole in the back floor of a chevy chevette when he came to from being knocked out and not dead from a shot from a .22! Pretty wild experience having an Alligator wake up in the hatch on the way home.
