ISO infertile Finch Eggs

He wasnt a breeder. Apparently this species of snake wont breed in captivity, he bought a full grown gravid female who laid eggs. He hatched the babies out and unloaded them on people at a reptile expo to make a quick buck. Im in contact with another person he sold a baby snake to in the same boat as me. Made it sound like the snake would be super easy to take care of. No dealing with mice, the snake has no teeth so no biting, just feed it a cup of egg once a week.

Found this. Apparently hatchlings only need to be fed once every two weeks.
Yes, Thank you, I have seen this article. I've had my snake now for 2 weeks. I tube fed 5cc of whipped egg last sunday so he should be ok for a bit. The tube feeding was hard and I can tell I stressed him out but I got him out today and my boyfriend and I both think hes grown. It is possible to raise them with tube feeding only but I would feel so awful if I were to accidentally hurt or kill him.

Once again curious. Could you use jell caps and fill them with egg and feed it that way ? It would not be able to break the egg by constricting . It would however dissolve and release the egg .Or do you think the jell cap would hurt the little critter ?
Thats actually a really good idea but I dont think the snake would be able to digest the gel cap. They only eat the liquid from the egg and regurgitate the shell and any solid material with it
In this case I think the gel cap would get like gooey and stick inside him. I could work but would be really risky to try.

I'm sure you've already tried craigslist, but have you searched for a NY herpetological organization? There might not be one close by, but you could call & ask for advice. Mine (The East Bay Vivarium) is over 300 miles away from me, but they've been great about giving me long distance advice over the phone. They might be able to help you or give you a referral to someone who could help. :fl Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thank you for this. Im going to check once I get out of work. If anything maybe they can help me make tube feeding less stressful. The good news is the person I found through craigs list who also bought a snake DID manage to find someone with eggs and has said he will give me some. Hopefully he can put me in contact with that breeder so I can get eggs shipped to me as well.
