It’s a sad day

Today is sad, we decided we have to rehome our beautiful ducky boys, because we just have too many boys and not enough girls and it’s not worth it to try and keep them. But it’s proving to be very difficult to rehome them because nobody wants a bunch of boys.

I'm sorry, many want drakes for the freezer. Can't you separate the boys and try and find a few girls to put with your only girl? Your Cayuga are gorgeous,.

No I can’t separate I already have 10 ducks I have 4 females and 6 males I’ve been trying to find girls but there are none around. And I’m not in the us, I’m in Canada.

Can you split your flock into boys and girls and have separate housing and runs?

No unfortunately, we have to have a coop attached to our house in order to heat it in the winter as it gets down to -30c -40c and I can only have the one coop and my yard isn’t big enough to have multiple runs. And food is hard to find for us so it’s hard to feed all the boys as well
