It Finally Happened New Egg layer!

Well this morning just after 5am , I think, my blue rock laid her first egg. But she laid it on the roost. I am not home but have someone collecting eggs. It looks white on my camera which is throwing me off.

But 17 weeks 3 days. Whiskey laid her first egg

Found another egg. Think from the same girl. It is pretty much the same shape and the exact same color. this time it was laid in a corner of my coop that I can't see on camera so not 100% sure it was her but pretty sure. It is also hard to get to so I have blocked it off with a bin on its side that they can use as a makeshift nest box if they want to. of course I still can't see that area. LOL

well my girls haven't made it easy on me. I have 4 eggs that are basically the same size and shape and really close to the same color. But even though I have a camera in my coop I can't figure out if they are all from Whiskey or if the other Blue Rock is laying as well...... Guessing it is one of them since the others that are close are my Buttercup which should lay white and my OE which should lay green...... Only 1 of the 4 eggs has been in the nest box and even though I look under and around the coop they seem to like to hide them at times..... One appeared this morning and not sure if I missed it yesterday and another chicken dug it up (since I saw it on camera and went out to get it but they buried it again and even digging I couldn't find it. a few min later they dug it up again and I went and got it that time. But then one about the same was in the nest box later today..... so either both blue rocks or one was laid yesterday and missed even with me searching (and even using a rake to dig through the shavings.

Today at 18 weeks 3 days Tequila aka Miss Cheeks, laid her first egg!

The funny thing is going by her comb color I wouldn't think she was close but she has been sitting in the nest box off and on for a couple weeks. 1 that I think is ready/really close by her comb and has been for a couple weeks still hasn't laid. Lol

Update! They waited until today (we got home just a little bit ago from our vacation) to lay two perfect little eggies. They even laid them in the nesting boxes! I'm a proud chicken Mama! So I have two laying but now I have to figure out which two!

FINALLY another of my pullets laid an egg. Buffy, another of my ISA Browns, who will be 19 weeks tomorrow, blessed me with an egg that has such a heavy bloom it looks a fleshy pink color. I suspect this is actually her second, we had a yolk in the bedding under the roost about a week ago. It was 1.7oz/48g so pretty big.

So now I have three egg layers. Also finally ate some of the first eggs from my other two that are laying. As I suspected Sassy's was a double yolk.

Here are all the eggs so far from the first two:

And here are the four I ate today before and after breaking them into the poaching tray:
