I was just at the gas station and the mail truck was there at the pump next to me... I saw it was our mail guy and I was like OMG DO YOU HAVE MY DUCK EGGS?? and he was like ... OMG IDK LET ME CHECK! :lau ...and he did! So he passed them off to me right there and now I'm gonna head home to open them up!

I would like to commend @Smiles-N-Sunshine on an amazing packing job with these eggs!

The package arrived kind of... savaged. As you can see in the pic below, it must have really taken some SERIOUS beatings along its path.

Upon opening the box, I discovered what I can only refer to as... expert packaging!

Each egg was individually wrapped with such care!

Unfortunately, on the smashed portion of the box... there were 2 casualties. One that was completely crushed in one section(it appeared that it WAS fertile when I opened it up), and the other I didn't discover until I was candling for cracks.

I've read that cracks like this last egg can be sealed with clear nail polish and have a chance of successful incubation. I'm trying to decide if I should give that a try or call quits on it.

All eggs are resting and will get placed with Blackie + incubator tomorrow at noon!

I was just reading and saw that a lot of people use plain candle wax to seal it. I am gonna try it and I'll put it as an incubator egg so I can keep a closer eye on it... I couldn't bear to toss it lol

Oh and Annabelle sent me on an egg hunt in the dark tonight. LOL She was in the nest box when we have to leave. We didn't get home until 7ish so of course it was really dark out. So I go out with my flashlight to check the box, nothing.... ok no biggie it must be in the coop where it always is when not in the nest box. I look nothing. so check all around the coop. nothing.... hmmmmm so now have to check around the whole run. start looking in the area I found the other mystery run eggs. don't see anything, check the other area nothing. So then look under the coop in that part of the run (praying it wasn't under there since it is only 2' high) don't see it... take one more quick peek and found it right at the edge of the covered part of the run and the under the coop part of the run, thankfully right at the edge where I could reach it! It was clean and like her normal egg (not like the normal mystery run eggs). No clue WHY it was out there since she had quiet in the coop when in there and she came out normal....

Well I'm glad the package arrived quickly, if not in good shape. I guess "Fragile Handle With Care" means different things to different people.

I'd go ahead and set any eggs with micro cracks, even without sealing them up. They have thick and robust membranes, much thicker than chicken eggs have. But still check for leakage, and this is just what *I* would do and no I won't help you scrub out your bator or Blackie's belly if you get a splodie.

I don't think I told you that the markings are with a food coloring pen, not a Sharpie, which you can tell by the smear there. The 22 is the day I collected the egg and the 70 is its weight in grams. Almost jumbo sized. :)

Reminder that I'm still eagerly awaiting feedback on that heater pack, as this was my first experience shipping with one.

Cheers, good luck, and best wishes @MochaLatte !
