It has begun!!! 1st Time

I just candled my very first egg from the incubator (day 7) and had movement inside. :yesss: I had to call the kids over to check it out. I'll check the rest later once the kids go to bed. I hope it's a sign of things to come. :fl. Air cell grew about 1/8"-1/4" bigger all around. Is that about right?
Original weight was 63.33g current weight 60.62g so total weight loss at 4.28%

Sweet!!
How old are your kids?

I like tracing the air cells on days 7, 10, 14 & 18....good way to tell if humidity should be run a bit higher or a bit lower....and knowing if pips are in air cell or outside of it.
I dont' know about weighing as that's not how I roll.

I use this as a rough guide:

Ok very pleased to report I have 3 shipped eggs with question marks on them that I will play closer attention to
on day 10. All others I saw movement.
My eggs I have one that I believe did not make it. Is this a dead egg with the so called blood ring? Remove it?

Since the eggs are laid down in this incubator the blood ring will run the long way correct? Every video I see they run the other way that is why I am asking.

Mmmm, probably...I'd wait tho, no harm.

Not sure, but maybe. I've had blood rings and they I don't think they ran that way.

It was funny the 3 year old saw the movement but keeps saying "I didn't see the baby chicken" try explaining to a three year old that the baby chicken is inside the egg.
:gig Oh, I'm having a flashback!! I can hear a little voice.

I pulled 3 eggs out of the incubator today. I put them in Ziploc bags and broke them open. This is morning of day 10.
2= yolks
And this one I determined to have a blood ring while candeling. It is a shipped egg. Please note that what I point to with my arrow is what I believe is the blood ring. I did not see any movement.
Am I correct was the a dead egg?

You can clearly see the eye and little body parts forming.

It had 2 yolks?
Not sure if chick was dead or not, looks about like a 10d embryo from a quick google...
....but if 2 yolks it probably wouldn't have made it anyway.
No, of the 3 eggs I removed and cracked open 2 of the eggs were just yolks with no development. The picture is of the 3rd one which had a blood ring and no movement that I could see also when broke open no movement also.
