I pushed it back in again, and got a big unattached bloody globule that came off on my q-tip. I don't know what that was. It has remained in for half and hour or so, and she seems to be trying to eat and drink again.

Could the bloody glob have been a blood clot? I'm certainly no expert, but it could be that when she's prolapsed it hurts too much to eat...

Gee, I hope she gets better soon. Some chickens just seem to be determined to be a problem!

Thankfully, this is the first non-predator related issue i've ever had besides a little cocci. So i'm having hope. I've had strong birds. I can keep checking on her today and make sure it stays in.

I don't know what that "thing" was...

As long as she's eating and drinking, or at least attempting to...I would continue to push it back in. I read tons of posts on this when it happened to my little one, I read one where she had to push it back in for a few days and now, years later, has had no problems with the chicken. Other people said if it works this time she could have problems down the road, esp. when egg laying starts. My baby didn't fair so well, he/she (a silkie) just would not eat or drink at all and I couldn't force enough to keep her going. I'm hoping everything turns out ok for your girl! You're doing a great job!

I have pushed it back in several times today. She's continuing to drink - and eat a little. And she's fairly active.

I checked on her less than an hour ago, and i didn't have to push it back in. So i'm hoping for success. Will check again in the morning.

I think she's going to be o.k.

I haven't had to push it in at all today. And when i check a moment ago, i found a normal poop. I think that's a great sign; it must mean that she's lined back up again. I'm going to keep her isolated for a while longer when i see that she's started to eat more heartily. Right now, she's drinking well but only mildly interested in food.
