It occurred to me.. crazy egg idea

UPDATES:
Experiment #1
Uncleaned, wrapped and stored for a week before unwrapping and setting in the incubator. They were set on 3/4 making them 16days into incubation today. (control was not fertile)

All set for hatch in 4 days :)

Experiment #2
91% Alcohol sprayed, wrapped and stored for a week. Unwrapped and set on 3/8
Lost one egg which had a blood ring at around 5-6 days, it happens with my chickens occasionally so I do not think it reflects on this experiment

This is the bloody pullet egg being lighted

Great development in the 3 remaining eggs, I expect they will hatch just fine.

Experiment #3 A & B
Poopy eggs!
A was sprayed with alcohol
B was not
Eggs all looked great under light today (day 12 wrapped). The air cells were amazingly small compared to air cells of similar aged eggs I left unwrapped sitting next to them. NO signs of mold or ughs on any of the eggs, even on the B eggs which were not sprayed.
I unwrapped and set them in the incubator (3/20).

Will give a update within 5 days on developments and or hatch

Still looking for someone who is willing to ship some sandwich bagged eggs to me for $$ to continue the experiments and see if they travel thru the mail better :p I no longer have laying aged hens.

Results are in for Experiment #1.
If you remember I wrapped 3 eggs in sandwich bags for a week and had a control egg. One of the wrapped eggs had a few spots of mold after a week and rather than chance the eggs in my incubator I did not set that one and discarded it. The control proved to be nonfertile. So that left 2 eggs which were wrapped for 1 week to be unwrapped and set in the incubator.

Pictures speak louder than words, so here's the results of the 2 remaining eggs from experiment #1.

Experiment #2 will conclude in about 4 days.

I can not update on #3A and B. The eggs are too dirty for me to see good enough in there!

So It's going to have to wait a few more days to a week. (I thought I seen some development but I can not be 100% sure right now due to POOP)

RESULTS from Experiment #2.
4 Eggs were sprayed with alcohol and 3 were wrapped. They sat for a week before being put into a turner in the incubator.

20 days later (for some reason my sultans hatch around day 20)
2 hatched chicks and 1 pipped(it will be out within the next few hours).
Lost the bloody pullet egg(wrapped). It quit about mid way right after I did the candle for the last round of pictures. Failure of this egg could have been caused because it was a pullet egg, I messed with it too much, the chickens were too interbred or the alcohol spray did some unseen damage causing bacteria to be able to enter. The pullet egg was bloody before experimenting began.

so the results are control egg and 2 out of 3 wrapped are good and hatched/hatching.

Experiment #3A & B
Just a quick look. It appears around 50% have failed of both A & B. .
When my current young flock reaches adulthood and lays for me I may try this experiment again. The failures look to be early quitters, maybe around day 3-5.
Eggs were set on 3/20.

It may be that 12 days wrapped air tight were just too many, Alcohol allowed bacteria from poop to enter the shell (this is most likely cause).
