Items stolen/Trespassing - Progress on our fence *pics post 91*

So sorry that happend.

My only answer is...Dogs and Guns....but you can't control everything. Hopefully it all works out.

My husband is a contractor withOUT a criminal record. I don't think they should be labled as people who most likely have criminal backgrounds, after all anything that has to be built just about is done by some contractor. One bad seed doesn't make the rest bad

Oh I know. My mom's husband is a contactor. I don't mean them. To be more specific, I mean that many of the laborers on the work crews do have some criminal activity in their past. Certainly not labeling that entire group either, but it is a fact. For that matter, not everyone with a conviction of some kind is necessarily a thief - everyone makes mistakes. Sorry for any offense, none intended!

Wow, I'm so sorry. I know how it feels when you lose your sense of security. You really need a Great Pyrenees AND some guineas outside to sound the alarms when something is not right. Just look at that precious face..................not mine, silly, the dog's...............

Although Diesel is still a puppy, a lot bigger than that picture, I know he would jack somebody up if they tried to hurt one of us or his chickens or the kids. They are great dogs.

With the economy the way it is, it will most likely get worse. I live outside a little bitty town where no one locks their doors and my DD's friend's Mom who is a sherriff's deputy says people have been breaking into vehicles taking stereos and GPS systems. My BF works at a restaurant and someone broke into all the employee cars in broad daylight.

I sympathize.
Anything around here not secured is stolen. "No one" (yeah, right, with our snoopy neighbors), knows anything. And always at night when the dogs are inside.
I figure thats the reason nobody has tried to come inside the house for anything. A Great Pyrenees/Mastiff cross and a Chow cross are very much a deterrent for thieves...
We are moving as soon as we can get this place sold.
Here is hoping you find out who is doing this and get your well deserved security back.

Thanks. A friend told me that, too. I've been watching just in case.

I don't know if we could get another dog at this point... our two are enough to keep up with. GPs are great dogs, though! And I DO have guineas! I can't believe that having both the dogs and the guineas out there didn't deter them at all! They make quite a racket! Our german shepherd/lab cross sounds like she wants to eat you when she notices something out of the ordinary! She would scare me! Of course, our dogs are tied out when we're not home, so regardless of what breed, I don't know how much the dogs can do other than bark.

Unfortunately a tied up or confined dog is of no use in guarding and the thieves know this. I also understand you may not have a choice but to chain your dogs. Can you move them closer to your shed?

This problem has become increaseing worse in my area. Pain pill abuse is at an all-time high and everyone supects the break ins are related so the thieves can support thier addictions. Break-ins in my area are on the news everyday and seems to be hitting back roads the worst. Some people are asking the local sheriff if they can shoot the thieves. Of course you cant. I have 2 very large dogs one weighing 90lbs and the other around 160. They act aggressive toward strangers if they think no one is home. A big dog can really be a big help. I live in NE KY 10 mins from Ohio and some of the same people have been hit more than once so keep your eyes peeled. Also if you think about the desciption of the truck then you have probaly seen it go by a few times as they would have to know there was somthing of value in the shed before they would take the chance. Alot of people are now installing wildlife cams on thier property near sheds and thier homes.
