" Vivian, only you can create your own happiness: it comes from within. You must choose to be happy, for nobody can create your happiness for you. Once you find that within yourself, you will be able to find what you seek more easily. Instead of thinking about how bad things are, dear, think about how good things could be. I know it is within your power!"
Turning again to Rayko, Magatha spoke." I see a man at a crossroads. You are struggling to find yourself in the upheaval of our country. You shoulder a burden for us as the night watchman, and for that, I thank you. Remember that no matter how small we feel, we all have important things we must do for the good of all, and important things for our own good. Soon, you will have a decision to make."
Vivian said quietly "Thanks. I will try my best." She went and found a lily and put in her hair, then went to stand next to Rayko.

Rayko listened quietly as Martha spoke. When she finished, He replied softly, "Thank you for your reading. I greatly appreciate your insight. But please know, that was not my intent or purpose of sharing time with you today, lady Martha. I may be many things, but disingenuous is not one of them."

Vivian said quietly "Thanks. I will try my best." She went and found a lily and put in her hair, then went to stand next to Rayko.

He then straightened to look to Vivia as she stood beside him. He commented pleasantly, "Lady Vivian, that lily's beauty is paled by your very own radiant beauty. You chose well, the flower to adorn your silken locks."

Vivian immediately blushed. She stood there speechless, before saying quietly, almost whispering "Thank you Rayko. And you are extremely handsome, more so than I might be pretty."

Magatha grinned. " My advice is freely given. You helped a little old lady shuffle her way across the garden, and I had a nice conversation with you, is all," she laughed. A breeze ruffled her thinning white hair. " The company of others is gift enough for me, a foolish Crone. Any time you wish to speak with me, I will be here."

Rayko laughed gently and shook his head, "Lady Vivian, ladies are the flowers of the garden. Males, are more like the weeds. Hardy, purposeful and nothing if not persistent. I believe one's gaze is best served admiring the flowers. But thank you for you kind words." He said with conviction.

"You, my lady Martha, are far from foolish. Let alone a crone. You are well loved and deeply respected in this kingdom. And as you aptly put it, you give of yourself freely. So shouldn't you receive such in kind?" Rayko countered with sincerity, as he smiled at her.

" May you be blessed with good health and long life, young one," Magatha spoke gently. This was a man who certainly deserved it. The hens chased a stray grasshopper, one catching it up and swiftly eating it before the others could get to her. Magatha smiled at the spectacle, enjoying the peace of the moment.
