Someone mentioned that the floor is covered with wire. One thing you can do is use the deep litter method on the wire and they can scratch around in that so you don't have to open the bottom to predators. That may even help you with them not roosting in the boxes. Also, if you were to put solid sides on the sides with the prevailing wind, they may use their roost more because they will have a wind/draft break. Just a couple of thoughts but I really like it- nice and spacious.
