It's finally done, I's dotted...

I keep having to come back and look at your pics! I am jealous too!! What a great place to come home to! What is that one rectangular box that looks like it has green stuff in it, and it's covered in hardware cloth and your cute chicken is right next to it?
I love how you did the grape arbor, thanks for telling me what you used.......I am going to have to keep referring to it, I'd love to do something like that.

Absolutely beautiful.

Giving me ideas for my backyard now that I didn't know were in me.

Very peaceful and restful. Congratulations on a very well done area.

One question, the one picture with the chicken standing on a box with hardware cloth over it--- is that grass underneath?

The run is to the right of the house. It has the grape vine growing up the front, and the door in the end.
It gets hot here, so I built in shade clloth and trellis panels to the exterior walls of the run.

The little box is a planter box with grass growing in it, with a screen nailed over the top so they can oly get to the tops as they grow out.

Thank you so much Ranch Granny, sub Farmer, Chickenfeeva and trilyn for your kind words. I really appreciate them !
I have never done something like this before and the feedback really means a lot to me.

It was pretty easy and cheap. Those big arbors that they sell online are thousands of dollars.
The only trick is making sure that it is sturdy, in case of wind. You have to build a good structure of braces, which eventually get covered by the grape vines.
My grapes won't cover it until fall, so this summer I am growing watermelons on it.
There is a table and chairs under it, for breakfast in the garden and an occasional dinner party. People love the chickens nearby.
Must seem pretty nuts to REAL farmers !
