It's hatching day!!

Friday: My three ducklings each had open areas about the size of a pea, along with a stringy thing.

Sunday: It shrunk down within a couple off days.

Today--Monday: You have to now move their fluff over to find a little small nub.

As I was told to do, I'm keeping an eye on the area to make sure it doesn't get infected.

Best of luck and congratulations!

Did you leave them in the incubator until it was off? Its strange because they hatched themselves and I don't remember seeing it on any of the ducklings that my parents raised.

P.S. Pics to come soon!

I moved my three strongest ducklings to the brooder on Saturday (started helping them hatch on Friday morning) because they were disturbing the two weakest ducklings. My three ducklings in the brooder were so weak and tired, they mostly just laid there and occasionally moved around their first day in there.

perfect i always have 2 brooders for this reason. you always have perky ones, sleepy ones, and late hatchers.

I even had my second incubator nearby just in case both weak and weakest needed separate incubators! (As you can tell, this was my first hatch!) My larger brooder is currently housing teenage chickens that I recently purchased.

Any more news on the ducklings health?
