paypal is usually pretty buyer-friendly. so there’s some protection there to get the money back.

id cancel the order given the optics of the website, but at the end of the day @3KillerBs is taking a $50 flier to find out if this is real or fake. if she’s comfortable with that, then let’s just see how it plays out and stop telling her she’s gonna get screwed three ways from sunday.
Good luck with that! PayPal appears but friendly but when actually trying to cancel a payment they favor the seller and will demand that you contact the seller for a refund or wait for delivery, even if you can prove the product is fraudulent. You’re bank however will immediately stop payment

I didn’t pay for mine through PayPal- my bank is really good so if it turns out to be a scam, I know my bank will refund.

People are giving you valuable advice here, the only thing that will result from this is you battling to get your money back or accepting the losses.

I thought I’d add my experience as the owner of a manufacturing business. We had an incident about 6 months ago where someone hacked/duplicated our customer site and was “selling“ our products at a significant discount. It looked like a legitimate site. We tried alerting Google, etc. that it was a fake site and got nowhere. We put a note out on social media hoping people would see it and not buy from the site. Outside of that, there was nothing we could do. The customer and their credit card company will have to figure it out when they don’t get what they ordered, unfortunately.

ETA: Specific to this site, you can tell it’s a scam because they’ve changed their URL. Looks like they were skyglare (another scam site) at some point.

Well said. I think M/M 3KB are smart enough to know what risk is worth it. And really a $50 risk is just to the pride. No lasting harm.

My husband used to work in collections so he is aware of the necessary things to do to get compensation if it's a scam.

I'll report what happens when it happens. : )

One last thing....These sites make money by "selling" the product and not delivering. They also make money by selling your personal info. So if you do buy something and you're not sure if the site is legit, create another email or you're likely to get a whole bunch of spam.
Hell, legit places do that. Wanna find out how many catalogs there are? Order from one.
