Susan Jo m~ My hova 1588 forced air stayed at 100.5 the whole last incubating period, and I got two chicks on day 19-every chick was hatched by day 21. So some were quite early, but temps were right on.

i got 7!!!!!! wooohooo! im right there with ya mom2emall... uggg . i have 4 others that havent piped and its driving me crazy! the las egg that hatched was huge! compared to the rest and i thought it was gonna be a cochin for sure,,, but i HAS 5 TOES! so its a silkie! woohoo! 5 of thr chicks tht have hatched so far were cohins.. blue splash black....ish... and the silkies i diont know what they are going to be.. lol soo cute and SOO soft.! in proud! thats a 70% hatch so far .. first time hatcher... home made bator... barly day 21.... begginers luck? lol!

I had 20 out of 25 hatch... no problems! The cheesecloth worked great... I was a little worried they would get tangled in it, but they all wobbled across it just fine. I like the idea of leaving an open space next to each egg in the carton as all my chicks climbed back into the cartons after hatching and many plopped down inside of already hatched eggs

No, nobody on here- live and learn, I got them on eBay. Also, I now have one grey silkie with a cute vaulted head...and the one I predicted was commiting suicide- that pipped real far down, did. That is two that pip then died.

I am so sad. Four eggs deciding whether they want to commit suicide or live, still. Silkie eggs. Im waiting..

I got ten out of twelve shipped EE that hatched.All little chipmunks and black chicks. very cute.

I am so sad about my silkie ratio.

This is why they say don't count your chickens before they hatch.
