I've really lost a little faith in humanity tonight

Too bad your daughter had to learn how childish and ignorant some "supposed adults" can be. Let her know we're all proud of her and her courage to stand in front of a crowd for her babies.

There is nothing wrong with acting as if your birds are your children - many of us do. What about people and their dogs? No different. Let's hope the councils visit to your place is a success.

What goes around comes around - others jerks will get theirs.

Thanks everyone! Your support means the world to my daughter and myself!

So far today I've gotten two calls from newpaper reporters and an email from a local website for a video story on nikki and her ducks! there's an article on redbankgreen.com about the meeting. omg, please ignore the photo, lol...i look like 500 pounds and my daughter looks psycho lol.

I hear you. I lost a lot of respect for human nature dealing with grown adults with my daughter being sick. Grown adults asking her rude personal questions. ,My daughter is 12. She has FMS. So guess people cant grasp that a child can have it. Once she went to the nurse because her body hurt really bad. She told the nurse that the colder weather made her sickness worse. Mind you she had. 504 plan and was to call me when the pain got to bad. The nurses comment was "oh thats a first time I have heard that excuse."

After many flares because of stess I finally pulled her to homeschool. The schools excuse was they didn't know what FMS was until the doctor called the district and got involved.

I personally would have said something to those adults. People wonder WHY bulling is such a issue. Look at how adults behave , the children are only doing what they are seeing.
Ask the. How they would feel if that was their own child they were laughing at. Shame on them !

Oh, that is just awful.

for you and your daughter. Nikki is 12, and she suffers from depression, panic disorder and a tic disorder. Besides seeing the tics sometimes, ignorant adults and teachers think that she's "fine" and "content" since they can't "SEE" anything wrong with her!!!! they say "well, nikki doesn't express to us that she's anxious or scared or uncomfortable etc..she's fine in class" of course she's not speaking up she has a social anxiety!! She holds it all in until she gets home, crying for a good part of the afternoon, and left with knots in her neck and shoulders from the stress. Anyway, that's a whole other story, lol. But anyway, i really feel for you and your daughter. I hope she's doing ok.

that is just sad grown adults acting like 6 year old children im only 14 and we act more mature than that. that guy who said that will get whats coming towards him God will get him.

speechless. I like the idea of getting the media involved and I would certainly mention the heckling that your daughter endured and if that doesn't work, take Imp I guess. Or my husband, he never holds his words when someone needs them.

How awful! What kind of town is this? Are these people you know that were heckling her? Some people are just jerks.

I've been to city council meetings in my town and yes, there are some people who mutter things under their breaths, but not a lot. Most people just want to move on with the meeting so that they can present their own agenda. That's what a lot of people who go to these meetings are there for, to talk about their issues, not listen to anyone else's.

But, at least you get to keep your ducks for one more month.

ETA: Also, I read what was in the Red Bank Green and all the comments were very positive in your favor.

I feel for your daughter for having to put up with those immature 'adults.' I feel for you for pretty much being unable to do anything about it. You can say/do anything to me, but don't you dare mess with my kids!
BTW--you do NOT look like you weigh 500 lbs & your daughter is beautiful! She looks like she is very animated & passionate about her topic.

Might there be a loop hole shock would allow her to keep the ducks? Maybe 4h ?
I think its crazy to tell people what animal they can have vs can't. Dogs and and cats but no ducks or chickens seems silly. They are not half as loud. IMO. When we were illegal I was well prepared to fight for comfort animals. My daughter would judt sit with them, her teachers at the time felt it helped her. Adults sometimes need to grow a clue and stop acting like bullies. Some adults think they need to tell others how to live. In our last city some adults decided to drive around and report anyones yards they didn't see fit. We got reported for a yellow spot o the neighbors lawn. Lol. Some times they just dont have anything else better to do then complain about others.
I pray you get to keep you ducks.
