Wow, just found this thread and read the most of it, it's hard trying to catch up on a whole years reading.

Ivory is so not ivory ( just kidding). Looks like that comb got a bit of frost bite. Nice bif fellow, are you going to use the hens eggs and hatch out some of his babies?

Yeah, the funny thing is when he first hatched, he was a silvery color that reminded me of the name "Ivory".

Then he completely changed into a golden buff color when he got his real feathers, but I decided to keep him named Ivory and it has stuck ever since, despite his change in color.

And I know about the frost bite...We had below zero temperatures all last week here, and even though I kept a heat lamp out in the coop and it's pretty well insulated, that one tip did get a little frost bite. But it's not that bad, and it should eventually go away. Trust me, I've seen WAAAYYYYY worse. I have a different rooster (a RIR) who got such bad frostbite last year that he lost all but a couple of his toes and every single one of the points on his comb, despite the fact that I put vaseline on it almost every night when it got really cold.

Poor boy!

I might use the hens' eggs to hatch sometime in the future...although the coop I have now is only suppose to fit 4-5 adult chickens, so I would need to expand quite a bit before I add to my flock. Unless someone would want to buy them.

Who wouldn't want to buy adorable little Ivorys?!?!

Yep, he is!

I mean what other chicken is fortunate enough to end up with their owner being a vegetarian and an animal lover?!

Day 385 (1 year, 20 days), or 55 weeks old

Hi everyone!

It's finally warming up a little here outside, and Ivory and his three girls are enjoying the warm weather in the safety of their caged run. It's probably the only area without that much snow in it.
lol.png
They don't dare to go exploring the yard because there's still a lot of snow, so they have been waiting it out in the run and under the coop, where there's still at least some dirt and leaves to scratch in.
roll.png
It seems like they can't wait for all the snow to melt and the new grass to come up!
Here are some new pictures taken today of Ivory and his girls. Enjoy!

(By the way, don't mind the pullets' less-than-perfect appearance that they have right now.
lol.png
They are going through a mild molt and, especially May, are still going through the phase of losing old feathers. Hopefully some new ones come in again soon!)

Ivory and Jasmine:

Jasmine again...thought this one would make you laugh...The way I could always tell Jasmine apart from the two others, since they are pretty similar in appearance, is by her adorable cross-eyed expression.

And, Ivory the proud rooster himself!
