UPDATE: 325 Days Old! (approx. 46 1/2 weeks old, or 11 months)
Hi everyone!
Tonight is the first official snowfall, where the snow actually reached over an inch on the ground! Ivory and his three pullets are safely inside their coop, where they have a light on to keep their water from freezing. Tomorrow morning they will most likely be surprised to see all the fresh snow on the ground, and so far they are enjoying their first winter (though Ivory was born last January). They, especially Ivory, love to eat the snow, too!
Christmas is fast-approaching, which means I need to buy a present, of course! Every year, I always buy a big tub of plain yogurt for the chickens, and they love it! It's usually gone within a day.
Also, Ivory mounted his first hen today!
LOL he always tends to do his little "rooster dance" around me, and never around his hens, and I was hoping he would someday realize that he has real hens that he should be courting instead!
But I guess he finally realized that today. He's growing up so fast...Haha
Plus, he's been crowing A LOT lately! I love hearing him crow!
Here's the latest picture of Ivory, standing at the entrance of his coop.
In other news, the three pullets (Hope, May, and Jasmine) are also growing up! They all look like adult hens now and are soo adorable with their huge, fluffy beards and earmuffs.
It's only a matter of time before I see that first green egg in the nest boxes!
Thanks for reading and check back later for more updates on Ivory and his flock!
