Jan. 21st hatch day! I have chicks! Pics Added pg 12!

Well my first baby just hatched!

It was the second one to pip.

The first one to pip still has only moved the shell right where it piped. I may have to help it if it still hasn't progressed by 24 hrs. It is a pullet egg and is smaller than the rest. I don't think there is enough room for the little bugger to turn.

On a better note 3 more have piped since last night!

ETA: I will post pics as soon as I wake up more!

Congrats on all the pips and hatches!

My hatch is officially done. 9 eggs in on day one, 6 eggs left on day 18, and 5 happy, healthy chicks are running around in the brooder!!! I have to say I'm really thrilled with this hatch!

Good luck to those still waiting! And be patient. One of my first to pip was one of my last to hatch and it was at least 24 hours from pip to pop.

Chicks #3 and #4 have just hatched!!!!! I still have 3 pips!!!

gah! mom gave up on the nest this morning! When I went out there at 8am, she'd been off the nest for quite a while. The eggs were really cold. It got down to freezing last night. It's now 10:30 and she's still off the nest. I took the eggs in and they're in a plastic container with wet sponges and a heat lamp. I'm praying they don't shrink-wrap like I've heard happens if you don't do lockdown. I don't have a bator anyway. I had one hatch yesterday and is doing well, but not sure how the rest will fare. 4 eggs left
