Jan./Feb. 2014 hatch a long

Holy crap guys... Looks like my duck eggs aren't the only babies I'm incubating.

Currently freaking out. Not sure how to tell DH. He won't even be home till Friday night so I've got a little bit of time.
Congratulations! Obviously a Higher Power wanted you two to have a baby.. LOL

I just realized this you all prob think that's a boy in the picture... My little girl is wearing a pony tail, but I can see how the gender can be mistaken heehee she isn't a girly girl but she's not a tomboy (like me) either.

Cynthia, she's a blue copper Marans! The farm I bought her from crossed blue & black Marans. I got a black copper, blue copper & one that is all grey with a charcoal grey neck, the roo is a blue copper splash, so all of these chicks *should* turn out blue splash. Oh but for some reason they don't have much feather on their legs, & the roo has clean legs, I'm pretty stumped! Their eggs are a medium brown with dark speckles on them... Not really terra cotta or darker like I expected. Still looks neat

Ok, I have to admit...that I went back to the photo to see what that little one was wearing..and I saw some pink! Cute girl. I have a daughter that was mistaken in person, very often when she was about the age of 8 to 10. She had her hair cut short. No makeup yet. No one would mistaken her as a boy now. :)
I want a splash something really bad..preferably a Marans. An EE would be fine too..just love the splash. Haven't had one in a while. Those eggs..are to die for. Just beautiful. Wouldn't mind having that color in my nest box either!

I love me some chipmunk babies. These are cute. Can't wait for mine to hatch. I have some EE's going into lock down tomorrow. They say they are Ameraucanas, but won't know until I see the color of those legs. And, the color of their feathers as they grow..but I think they just called them Ameraucanas. I don't mind..pretty eggs they are.
Then I have my Rhodebars and BO's going into lock down this Fri. Then...lol...more EE's that will hatch the 4th of Feb. Then...lol.... I have some more OE's coming from Arielle that is on here..BYC.
Then, lol..I'm done until the Easter Hatch A Long. Haven't decided what I want to hatch for that one yet.
If anyone here hasn't done the Easter Hatch A Long...it is the most fun Hatch A Long! It moves along fast! They have a lot of contests..so much company in there. Just fun. You usually find a couple of folks that you find that you can keep up with and are more of a hatching buddy with them..because there are a lot of them in there..can't keep up with all of them. This is good practice for those of you that are hatching your first time, or second...you will be ready for the Easter Hatch A Long. Keep your eyes open for it coming. :)

What? We got to know before DH? Congratulations! I love the human newborns.

LOL...any bets anyone? You have to keep us updated! I will be lurking around to see what's up with you. :)

. Its official first part of my stagger hatch first time incubating 9 out of 10 that made it to lock down hatched! Now for wed to see how the other 36 do
These are very cute. Looks like some barred rocks..or barred mixes? I love the white!

I had 3 batches of eggs set during our move. Looks like this may be the sole survivor from batch 1. It hatched yesterday, 6 days late. It was due the 14th. The other 2 batches seem to be running way behind too. Power was out on them several times before we figured out we have a couple bad outlets in the new house.
Aww, you got one though. 6 days late?? Wow.

Lol, yes, yall got the news before him. Still trying to figure out how to tell him. He's out of town till friday and I feel like that's something he should get to hear in person. He's stepdad to my boys, so this will be his first. I'm nervous to see his reaction, but excited at the same time. I really hope he's happy with the news. :)

Yep, it's from my tetra tint hen. Even has a couple little black spots like momma.

His first? How can he not be happy? You will have to think of something fun to do to let him know. This was a cute way. Now, think of something for him. :) Will be watching to see how you let him know. Cute!
