It is nice that we all have our own way of doing things, different humidity levels, different candling, different incubators - and no one is acting all know-it-all telling people they're doing it wrong.

Thanks for pointing out how great we've got it here. I hope it stays that way!

x's two......I love this thread.......................

Hi everyone I have a question. I put my eggs in the incubator this morning and its been just over 6 hours and the humidity is at 40% is that too high? Iv'e read nothing above 45 and nothing below 25 so I'm guessing its alright but just wanted to get another opinion on it. Thanks!

nice that you are hatching them out, the babies might get hungry sitting under the mom in the cold chicken house. the mom will grow hungry because she won't want eat because getting off the chicks would chill her babies. I am kidding of course, I hope you have heat lamps ready.

I take babies away as soon as they hatch so the mom will finish hatching the other egg. they like to get off the eggs to walk the chicks.

your humidity will go down over the duration of the incubation...as the eggs dry...best to try a keep it above 25 but the last 2 or 3 days absolutely keep it up... happy hatching
