Jan./Feb. 2014 hatch a long

Today is day 11/8 on 3 egg batches, I am already planning my following hatch. Since these are due on the 28/29 time line, I will probably set another 2 dozen on the 31 or so. The plan will be diff this time. I will use my eggs (none of the current in incubator are mine since my roo wasn't old enough) and more gray eggs from down the road then my plan is to be done for a while. (but who am I kidding?)

My roo he is feeding his ladies now that is a good sign, yes?

my hen's eggs and gray/green ones from down the road.
what a beauty!!

I heard if you didn't like your neighbor's windchime- you should get your own, then you won't be upset, well as much.

Haha! In this case, roosters! My 2 Roos are probably louder than all the others, but unlike mine, they're not crowing at all hours of the night - doesn't bother me but worried about it bothering other neighbors & I get blamed for it since I've had my chickens longer, everyone in the hood knows me & my chickens... maybe I just need to relax! Lol!

It is nice that we all have our own way of doing things, different humidity levels, different candling, different incubators - and no one is acting all know-it-all telling people they're doing it wrong.

Thanks for pointing out how great we've got it here. I hope it stays that way!
Me too.

I agree. I've had to leave a lot of threads, too many rude people who get very pushy when different opinions come up.
I like this thread, very upbeat and encouraging.
My eggs are on day 11. Ten days. We're going to candle on day 14, to check that clear Silkie egg, hopefully all the other are doing well. I can't wait to have little babies hopping around the incubator. I love this big window in the top, my girls get up every morning and check on the eggs. Super fun for the whole family.
I wish there was a way to delete the threads from the list that I no longer have an interest in. I hate sifting thru the bad ones.

I think I'm in trouble. My friend heard a whimper coming from a box left outside of Sam's Club. She already has a lot of pets but couldn't leave it out there in the cold. I had a can of puppy milk so I said I'd bring it home for the night. Who am I kidding, unless this dog poos on my head while I'm sleeping, he will become a chicken herder. Anybody have any clue what he might be?

Today I was in Home Depot buying parts to fix the same busted pipe but different spot. There was a plumber shopping. I asked him a few questions and he said he'd come fix it for me. There is a huge picture window right above the pipe. He's working away and we hear- tap tap tap. We looked up and in the middle of the window is Honey, my Buff Orpington. I had to leave right away, (go see the puppy) I completely forgot Honey was in the house. I went to lock up the chickens when I got home. I counted and recounted. One missing. I had to count each breed to figure it out. Honey was missing. Oh crap! SHe's still in the house. I finished up outside. The water had been off all day so I had to water the chickens in the brooders. And just now I remembered that I never put Honey outside. I have to find her first. I wil find a sleeping fuzzball and a pile of poo. In a day or two I will find an egg in some strange place. Oh, I gave the guy 4 dozen eggs for fixing my pipe.

Awwwww... poor baby being left!!!! Not good at determining doggy breeds, but my guess would be the stinking cute breed, they are priceless!!!
