Eggtopsied one egg of two. Will probably do the other soon, but not until I am convinced. This egg sank in the float test on day 22, the other bobbed, but did not wiggle. Day 13? 14? Very sad. I could have sworn the egg had movement at day 18. Hurried the little one next to his/her father.

Oh! I am on day 7! One week down, 2 to go! WOO WOO!

So far, everyone of the eggs seem good still- except for one, which is showing no growth- no veining or anything. It's pretty clear, so I think it's not going to develop, but the hubby refuses to give up on it yet.. I'm sure I will be the one that will encounter a mess with a rotten egg if I wait too long.

How long would you all wait to take out non-developing eggs?

Hey we should hatch close to the same time I have 24 barn yard mixes and that are at the 8 day mark and will be at day 7 with my rhodebars on tuesday. All my barn yards are growing well and some of my rhodebars are looking good.

Eggtopsy number two.

Can anyone explain that yellow matter off to the side? Not sure what day this baby died.

Started with five eggs, thought we had two, down to none. Very sad day. 21 sleepless nights. We learned so much, and if we ever get the heart to try again, we will be better egg keepers for it. Rip sweet babies, we loved you from day one.

Dangit!!!! Soooo Sorry, my heart goes out to you!!! Wish you were closer I would make sure you had a couple of Fuzzy Butts!!! Don't stop trying!!!

Day 10 of incubation....Had one quitter, looked great on the 7th day and today its veins had collapsed and looked like just a normal blood ring... Did an eggtopsy and the yolk sack was ruptured...
But 22 are doing the heart beat dance

how fun we've been doing the same thing!!! I think tomorrow...late....I'll be able to move some of the birds I want moved ...I'll paint at anytime!!!

Oh yes, we still have to work on another broody pen as well. But it is well worth it. Already moved the d'Uccles into their area. And they are in heaven.

Oh my my silly mother heard peeping in my incubator and removed the lid on day 19 to listen to each egg to find the one making the noise then called me up at work to tell me about it I about flipped out we have no external pips yet thank god told her to leave it alone watch and listen from outside the incubator thought I might have issues with my 13 yo not my 61 yo mom lol

I have had the same problem. Mother causing more issues than the kids. You need to put this on your bator...

My dog has let chickens into the house too many times. Sometimes she lets them back out. I will come home and find 3 eggs in the pine shavings bags in the laundry room. SOme of the chickens are more brave and will wander the house. I was vacuuming and moved the coffee table. I found a green egg and a brown egg. Crazy chickens.

Lol at your dog my cockatiels have 10 breeding pairs are having a fit they don't like the chick sounds coming from my incubator so even at almost midnight my house is very very loud my poor dog has given up and retreated to my bed room and im here watching the incubator they are rocking but no pip yet and its day 19 lol it was easier waiting before the eggs started moving

Okay so one am I have 4 external pips and I'm headed to bed Gota fix another rabbit cage tmrw been doing that a lot here lately then work tmrw afternoon so maybe I will wake up in morning to some lil football players in there

Ha..little egg football players. Good luck on your hatch..hope you do wake up to some fuzzy butts..and good luck on getting that cage fixed. When do you get rest for work? Sounds like you work the same hrs. my DH worked when he was working. That's if you work through the night. Swing shift. For 25 yrs. at the same place. Quality Control at a huge Valve company.
