Jan./Feb. 2014 hatch a long

my little frizzled cochin "Pepper" is broody...I've known this for several days but kept taking all eggs...well she still sits even with no egg so we decided to let her keep a few! she really really wants to hatch some chickels!!

I sat 24 eggs last night from my flocks......................
I am going to keep a closer eye on humidity and record it.
I think that is where things are going wrong....................

Can anyone explain that yellow matter off to the side? Not sure what day this baby died.

Started with five eggs, thought we had two, down to none. Very sad day. 21 sleepless nights. We learned so much, and if we ever get the heart to try again, we will be better egg keepers for it. Rip sweet babies, we loved you from day one.

Thank you, I've learned so much from you all and have loved seeing your fuzz balls. It won't be long, I hope, until we have a little fuzz ball around here too. I do miss those eggs though. After so much time and care its hard to believe they aren't here anymore.

Been working on the new addition to the coop, so now I'm behind in reading posts. One more day to finish enclosing, then on to painting.

it looks like it might have died recently...still blood in the veins...full term...that yellow stuff is usually in the bottom of the shell kind of thickened up after they hatch!
