Jan./Feb. 2014 hatch a long

Nice! I have the little giant still air incubator! My temperature is at 100.8 and changing (trying to stabilize) and my humidity is at 41-42%. Is this correct?

Does it work well I am getting that with turner I am gonna hatch as soon as it comes. Just as a test ya know I want hatching eggs but I wanna make sure it works first.

This is my first time hatching eggs. I started my flock in June and have expanded since. Chickens really are addicting!!

Tonight at 10pm is day 21!! Last night I had a temp spike of 106F and I thought for sure they were gone. Well tonight I candled and they were all moving!!! Now when I look at them in the bator they are wiggiling! Hoping to have some hatches tomorrow. I started with 6 eggs. #6 was a dude I threw out on day 7, #2 was a day 11 quitter. I told my husband I would be happy to have at least 2 chicks hatch for my first time.

I learned so much through this experience and from reading all about yours. I'm so happy to have found this online community!

For still air the temp needs to be at ~102 the humidity is about right. I have my humidity at 35-40% in a circulated air incubator. A word of caution: you need to have multiple thermometers and hydrometers set up because the reading in one spot could be much different than another spot. In my incubator the area above the eggs is 1 degree higher and below the eggs is 2 degrees lower. Hope you have a good hatch!

Bout humidity sounds good I never have used a bator before. I am trading eggs with a friend I'm excited. I am looking for started birds.I want blue andulusians self blue old English game and red Pyle old english game. Also silkies and some phoenix hens. And orpingtons so sad found the male of my breeding pair with a broken neck. He was a cockerel and his mate sunny huddles in the corner. People say chickens are dumb but they are sweet and each has their own personality.

Cool I heard it had bad temp control like hot spots and such. Also our one broodys eggs I candled and their all dark our first silkie momma got three chicks. And I think one might be a buff Orpington from goldie and sunny pics coming. We don't know what happened to poor goldie but sunny is taking it hard.
