I got nothing going on in the bator

Good Luck on your hatches and HAPPY NEW YEAR to all.
I have been doing alot of reading on quails and I am thinking I want to hatch some if I can find someone close enough in NH to buy some eggs from at a reasonable price. I am interested in the courtinex.

OK so my first egg hatched at 8:00 pm last night one of the Shipped Tuxedos and it was a tuxedo! the next one didnt hatch until 2 am a solid white one from the shipped tuxedo eggs. third one this morning bout 5 One of our babies! Our first egg to hatch from our own stock! JJ you are a grand pappy! he is a brown. Last one so far another tuxedo from the shipped tuxedo eggs. Giving us a grand total of 4 so far.

I got my black eyed peas and ham hocks on the stove and my bator is 6 steps away from that so I will be stiring and starrin all day, LOL!

REMEMBER ITS WINTER... MANY TIMES BATORS WILL RUN COOLER BECUASE OF THE COLDER AMBIENT TEMPERATURES AROUND THEM.... COOLER BATORS = LONGER INCUBATION TIMES... ok so all three of the eggs from my birds have hatched but only 9 of the shipped tuxedos have hatched. They are still going tho, they started at 8pm Friday and are still going, slowest hatch I ever had. These eggs were shipped during a time of freezing temps so maybe thats whats taking so long.

I'm using my homemade one. I didn't get my Octo till Christmas day (which has another 20 eggs in it). My first hatch with the homemade one was early but now that JJ mentioned it, I did have to change some things around cause it was too hot. Its been a walking weekend that started with me walking into the bathroom and my daughter was flat ironing my sons hair

Then no hatching yet and now while I was building a rabbit cage I heard a new crow while I was in the basement. I stop what I'm doing and watched to see where it was coming from and you guest it my breeder cage

So I've gone from 4 hens to 3 and brings my roo count to 10

I think Mother Nature is old ex girlfriend out to get me.... Lol I'm going to have a beer sexing party just because I need one

Yes I find that when they see what happens to the ones that are crowing they start trying to be stealthy We watch them and crab the crowers up and put bands on them. And when we have enuff crowers they get to go to freezer camp! Can't be over stressin the hens.
