JANUARY 2015 Hatch-A-Long

I did at my last hatch, but not this time. They're in a mini advance, which does all its working sideways. I'd have turned them fat side up at lockdown if I actually had a carton.. but we never buy eggs! I'm actually allergic to them, if you can believe it

hmmm I dunno, my last chicks were all shrink wrapped with my humidity at 65 so I really think I need higher. I put my hygrometers in the incubator today without adding water and without my eggs in yet and they were reading 5 and 6%... I live in AZ and it is so dry here, even with the rain we got a couple days ago.

We are in SC. Very humid here. My chicks drown if I go near 65%. Huge difference

Oh, this is TOO funny.

When I set Trader Joe eggs I usually get one or two chicks per dozen set. I mean, they're refrigerated washed & shipped eggs. So, wanting a couple more pullets for the coop, I set 35 eggs.

Did a candling just now... 33 eggs have veins!!!!

Yeah, I think I'll hit my quota on pullets on this one.

One of the staffers at our local TSC wants my production chicks. Phew!

I just hadn't anticipated that many. Kind of a shocker... like learning you're having triplets or something.
