Bummer that stinks when you are expecting something and get something else. I had 2 eggs labeled leghorn hatch black and I was a bit disappointed because we were expecting a white chicken. We had another leghorn pip into a vessel and die and when I eggtopsied it was black as well. We only had 1 leghorn actually hatch a yellow chick.I have 12 out of 16 hatched or hatching. They are eggs I brought back from Florida. They are black, birchen, blue and lemon blue, but so far the ones that are supposed to be blue have hatched black.
Also, the remaining 4 are the lemon blues, but none of those have pips. The one lemon blue that did hatch is black, lol! I can't tell any of them apart.
I'll get pics soon.
