The answer is 61...61 eggs fit into my Hovabator...and they said 50 would fit~ LOL 
I just added  22 silkies, 2 Crele, 2 Buff and a Jubilee Orpington.  Fingers crossed on the poopy eggs!

Wow good luck. I was gonna say I had some soiled eggs in my last batch and a couple are soiled in this batch. So I hope they are fine for your sake and mine! That's a lot of potential chicks... are you gonna sell them or keep them?

Thanks. I will probably keep them. Who knows. I have a dairy barn that I can convert to chicken area once it warms up. I got them from Bobbi Porto silkies so they should be beautiful birds. I drove them home ...1400 miles in bubble wrap. & not a single detached air cell!

My eggs are still cooking along! 10 EEs and 5 Silkie/Sizzles going strong. They look pretty on track to me, so I guess we'll see if they're on time when its hatch day. I lock down in 2 more days!!!!

Love EE and silkies! The eggs were only about 50 miles from Dads...worked out eggcelent to add that to our trip! I have a few sizzles from my last hatch...they are adorable! Can't wait to see your pics!

Well I could see where having a broody would defeat the whole purpose of having chickens for eggs.

Yeah, but i do not have chickens for eggs!!! LOL my mom buys eggs...she thinks there is "something" in the eggs cause we have roosters!!!!

hope everyone is doing good with their incubating!! 4 of the frizzle eggs went into lockdown last night. Hopefully in 4 days i have 4 frizzle chicks and friends for Solo 3 days after that. Which means they will be out of the incubator by wednesday which is just enough time to clean and change it out for the muscovy eggs to go into lockdown on thursday!!!

You should show her a video of commercial laying hens...she will never eat them again. I cried when I saw how bad it was...can't remember the name of the documentary. From fork to table or something... People have lost the path of their food...because we don't eat food anymore...we eat processed chemicals... Sorry...I am very passionate about my food. Food almost killed me & I take it seriously....hence, buying my farm to grow food and now the chickens!
