January 2020 Hatch along

Pics
No not bad! Very nice hatch for shipped eggs then.

I’m having a bit of a dilemma. And right at the beginning! The incubator was holding temp fine for a day, now it’s not. Been sneaking into the spare room every hour or so to check on it, but it’s dipping to 98. Ideas to keep it more stable at night? House goes from 70 during the day to 66 at night.
Some people wrap a towel around it...

Posting here and the emu forum. It’s more active here, and a little lonely in the emu forum right now lol.

So, over 2 days Egg A has lost 4g. Most it’s ever lost. Humidity, has dropped below 20%. How I don’t know, it’s rained and snow has melted. Our barn is wet humid mess, yet the basement is drier than ever?? Screwy. I hate to start adding water all of a sudden here at the end. I kind of feel like consistency is good, but I’ve never hatched an emu. Egg B, I’m pretty sure, is kaput. Leaving it in there for now.

Oh! And Foxfire.. we hatched 15 eggs from them over the summer. 10 pullets. 5 cockerels. I hatched them upright in an egg carton. We ended up with a nice breed selection. Most don’t conform to standard, but they are nice looking enough. Their eggs are so reasonably priced it’s a great way to get start with some rare breeds. It makes going to the coops fun when you get to see so much variety.

Tbh I don’t think consistency matters. I would up the humidity. How far until lockdown again?

Agreed! This will be the 4th and final batch for the season from them until the deathlayers are laying again. She’s supposed to keep me posted.

The variety is great and I know that the eggs I buy from them will hatch. Who wants to wait until spring for local chicks? Not I!
