I'm not incubating my duck eggs till spring because they're not mating right now. I would assume no mating so the eggs aren't fertile, but I can't wait until they are fertile!Hi people, I'm back with a new batch of chicken eggs!
My own eggs this time. The "main" roo is Orpington, but I let some of the other roo's access to some of the hens. Gonna be interesting to see what I get! The hens are mixes except for one Orpington and 1 silverruds blue.
Oh, and one of my ducks started laying eggs, so gonna have to find room for them in 10-ish days. Buying a big cabinet incubator was a great decision, even if it was expensive.
When my grandfather did ostrich eggs there was a point when he would whistle and they would do it back. He would also tap the egg and they would tap back. One of my best memories as a child was helping him with candling and such.Did a sneak peek on the eggs this evening. Lots of veins, so thinking I have a good batch in the works. Emus aren’t showing signs of life yet. 2nd batch of shipped eggs haven’t arrived.
And power is trying to go out.
My bf has a place in Manchester (Goffstown), but we spend most of our week in Goshen, near Sunapee. Where do you live now? Hopefully somewhere with better weather.I just moved from NH 7 years ago we lived in Hancock and Manchester.
The drakes born last year has just reached maturity, so they're very active with the ladies. If they're skilled enough to do the deed properly yet, time will tell...
