Umm yeah - $85 is out of my price range. If they all hatch pullets then maybe this batch can buy the next batch a new flashlight...

I went and got some batteries for the flashlight that has been dropped numerous times and it is working for now. I can see the air cell in the dark eggs even right now during the daytime (but in the hallway where there is no windows)

And SURPRISE! There is at least one lil' bitty baby in the double yolker. It is only like three days along (maybe 4) and so is still in that red spider looking stage.

I got a new flashlight at walmart today for 18$. I could see in to the dark brown eggs from my red sex link. I had not been able to see in at all before. And it was daytime. Anyway I haven't been able to post an update due to my crappy flashlight. I have 22 eggs in the bator. Today is day 10. All but three look pretty good. 16 are shipped buff orps and some from my backyard. I have a buff orp roo. Does anyone know what a bo roo x red sexlink hen will look like? She is my best layer and lays the most beautiful eggs so I figured if I hatch them I could get nice little layers from her.

those dam red sex link eggs are hard to see through !!! and the turkey eggs just cant tell whats going on with them ......

I have a red-sex link by black copper chick that is mostly black with gold around the neck. Not sure what a cross with a buff color will get you. Maybe a lighter red? I

Well, the 3 unbroken eggs from the hatching eggs I got from ebay were still clear after almost a week. Opened them up and they were runny and stuff. That was a waste of money. I had 5 totally broken, 2 cracked and three left...

I've got my own 7 eggs under momma hen, though, and they're still doing well. 100% fertility
