I have 4 eggs due for lockdown tonight/tomorrow. 2 Light Brahma & 2 Light Brahma/EE

I have a LG no fan holding at 101F on the wire and 55-60%Humidity
that I am going to use as a hatcher, because I have 8 more eggs in the auto turner in the 1st LG with a fan that aren't due for lockdown until the 31st.

Has anyone read the book "200 eggs per year"?
There is alot of information on incubating & hatching and feeding in it..

I'm hatching! I'm hatching! It is so exciting, whether it is the 1st hatch or the 30th hatch, isn't it? I just love it!

Currently, I have 5 Silkies out, and several more pips and lots of chirping. YAY ! !

It's lockdown for me today................. I can relax now...........
Thought I'd edit to add: There's 4 eggs in there (2 look real good), I'm hoping for more Bantam Faverolles. Happy to see any make it, as they arrive from shipping with several wild air cells. Just put some more shipped eggs in the bator late Friday, try try again.

kathyinmo: OHHHHHHH! I'm excited again, YOU'RE HATCHING!

I opened my 4 remaining eggs and three were infertile and one was a quitter. So I ended up with 7 from the 8 that were fertile. I guess that is better than last time lol. I really need to get a better candling light for these dark eggs. One of the babies is really small and had trouble even standing up and was the spraddle legs one. It is standing on its own now and takes a few steps and then sits down. She is half the size of the others but is really chatty and friendly. I have to keep her separate from the others because they pick on her and pull her little wings hard. They are big meanies lol.

Next batch to lockdown on Tuesday: Golden Cuckoo Marans, Wheaten Marans, Lav & lav/split black Orps.

sav the favs: Ahh your amazon sounds so cute and fun. I got my yellow nape from a pet store in Phx where they got him from someone who didnt want him. He was not tame and had lived his whole life on a manzanita wood stand that was way too large for his feet. As a result his feet were practically stuck that way. He is very talkative and loves Wheel of Fortune. He yells out the letters lol. He practically taught my kids phonics when they were little. He likes to call the cats, "Here kitty kitty", and if they are dumb enough to come up to his cage, he tries to bite them and cackles like an old witch. We also have a Severe Macaw and a Jenday conure. I hand fed/raised the macaw myself. We used to have more parrots but I let me mom keep some in AZ when we moved all the way to FL because she was so attached to them.

I have spent most of the day making a larger brooder for my nine 3 week old babies. At about 5p I looked again. Still nothing, BUT, when I turned off the fan for 30 seconds, I am sure I heard pecking w/my stethoscope so, tweaked the temp and humidity [at 50% and refuses to go higher

& 100* trying to get too 100.5. Sitting on my hands, here. If I don't have pips by midnight, will go to bed.
