So I don't have any rollers yet

My tape baby is still doing great! I ended up carefully removing the broken pieces off the egg early this morning - just checked back & the lil one made a hole in the membrane! I believe this one is a RIR/EE cross.

No other action happening with the others -but I didn't expect much - @ some point between 2:30AM & 8AM the bator went down to 96 degrees!!!!!

Can't wait to go South... no more 4degree nights to mess everything up! Even one of my NH hens was silly enough to stay out of the pen to close to sundown & just sat in the snow - luckily I was out & about all over the yard & happened to come across her - poor thing's comb was frozen solid! She's all better now so here's hoping her eggs are too & hatch!!



So yeah... things have gotten delayed I'm sure & just add to my crazy momma bird self & am now fearful that only my tape baby will hatch UGH always freaking myself out w/ the worst case scenarios & it's not even day 21 yet

And odd Everyone i assist stays little for a long time the one about 3 weeks ago i helped one wing was glued in the shell but still ...hes taking a while to catch up just because of that.

EDIT .....GOOD GOD.Hope nobody saw this before the edit..Had to run to the store and just sent it. didnt look ..Gobbledy gook... i had to edit a ton on this ONE sentence ..i PROMISE im not drunk!!

Wanted to set eggs today or tomorrow but cold has held them up

.Did get 3 today but they were like ice.(20 out) when i got them
Am putting the temp on them and date to see what hatches. Need 4- 6 more by tomorrow for my scheduled hatch ... dont think i'll make it

OH well 62 Degrees next MOn and Tues maybe ill get a bunch. then..

& thinking "there is no way those words could be confused as something else...." WRONG
I hope you do get enough eggs to go at it again. Yes it is suppose to let up a bit here too on Mon(but only into the 30s)

Tomorrow morning is day 18 for my silkies!!!! Lock down with the 6 good eggs, so excited! I candeled tonight to see how they were, saw movement in all of them, so they must be getting ready- If all goes well these will be my 1st to hatch in 20 years LOL, geez that makes me feel OLDER than dirt!

I turned on the small bator, added the water to get the humidity & temp right, will move them to it tomorrow so as not to interupt the other eggs in the big bator

HAHAHA I can't!!!! almost every hour I am back in the room looking into the bator w/ my handy dandy flashlight to check on Tape & the rest. I have decided that I will keep the tape baby no matter what since it made it thru that whole mess. It's 1/2 out of the egg & taking a nice nap. With the large crackage it didn't take much to get there & I'm happy it's not trying to get out & relaxing.

Not much action with the other eggs, that I can see anyways.
Oh yes & I thought Tape was a RIR/EE cross but now that it's showing itself... I see I put one of the BR eggs in the RIR pile

due to the size of the egg & color of the chick I am very certain it's a BR/EE cross. It's black w/ some white/yellow on it's wings IDK if it has any dot on it's head or anywhere else tho with how it's still kinda in 'egg pose' ::EDIT:: whitishyellow on wing tips, white on cheeks near beak, white on throat & chest. Not sure if the white goes all the way down it's tummy tho. just a single comb for this one as well, maybe there will be muff & beard or at least one of those. LOVE muffed out, bearded up chicks! Don't hear that one a lot in your average conversation eh

Well here i go again... won a egg swap so tomorrow setting my own and next week swap eggs..... hens choice.
And tomorrow i am calling the doctor....... to go get my head examined

Have you ever used the speaker on your email on your smart phone?
Watch that!! It will totally change a word you say if it doesnt hear you right and boy what it comes up with...!! . Yes i have tried t o avoid my terrible typing by using it too. Still no help
yeah texts and my phones tiny letters and my big ladies "man hands"...GUH even worse if thats possible

Don't feel bad Roxanne. We are still going to be hatching buddies. I just set 17 of my own eggs and 7 Black Bresse eggs tonight. These will be Valentine's Day babies.
