Japanese Bantam Thread!

Sorry, I haven't been reading this for a while. My Japs started laying early and I started setting eggs. I have 25 whites coming out weekly, first hatch out today. You can get my book from me the cheapest.

look how small the leg is. it took this one a whole day to learn to walk then it just scooted around the box on its butt.

Some of my new Japanese Bantams chicks. Only 6 from 10 eggs, hatched in a friends incubator at none of my hens were broody. Now I have a broody hen and lots more eggs. My question is: how many eggs can the Japanese Hen successfully incubate? At the moment she is sitting on 7 and they all seem covered up by her body. Is that too many?

And some of my 'gang'

They are very beautiful, I wish you luck with them!

I just got my first Bantams ever ~ A pair of Black Breasted Red Japanese from a show I went to last weekend. they are under a year old and I am really enjoying them. Here they are. Note the cock has had his wattles damage so he is not SQ but that does not matter to us.

Sorry not the best pictures.
japman117201 ~ I was just wondering how your wife is liking the Blue Marans still.
I would love to have another hen to make a trio.

I have a question:
I read that white outlining in tail feathers are bad.Is this true? The reason I ask is because my roo has some.
