Java Thread

Pics
I got them from a small farm here in central Alabama. They got their stock from a older gentleman with a few old time breeds. I do not know if these are directly related to the Garfield or Urch stock. It could be possible these are from an old Southern strain but that is pure speculation on my part.

Well I found out why my java chicks have pink feet. THE HENS HAVE PINK FEET!!

Pretty birds! I miss my pair of Black Javas... I have Auburns, a few mottled and one White. The predators have hit us really hard over the last two years. This spring I'll be filling the incubators and hoping for some broody volunteers!

Back in June we had an electrical fire and I lost my coop. All the bids lived and are now at a neighbors farm and doing well. I had to move and we are now city folk and I lost a little interest in my birds. My wife and I are looking at a house in the country and hoping to get back at it some time soon. So, I came back to this site and started reading up. These birds in the pictures look just like the chicks I hatched last spring. Man do I miss that!

Great to read this site again and I hope all you Java lovers have a great Christmas!

Long read, but great thread. If anyone is interested in trading Java eggs or chicks for Marans, let me know. Will be more than happy to get pic's to you. Would be really nice if it were someone in or close to N.E. Ohio.

Just had to share what my Auburn Javas got me for Christmas.
They (all 7) laid their first eggs! It was great to do the rounds and find all the nice and warm eggs and them just a clicking away like they were waiting for their praises.

Hope everyone had a great day too.
