Billjr No Indy doesnt have brown on him You are seeing pics of my other rooster Colbalt. He has the brown that is why we didnt take him to the show I also have a beautiful splash 8 month old that has some brown so we took the young cockerel instead. I have been told ts sunburnt feathers that hes getting ready to molt I hope so. I know we got Colbalt at 6 months and he was as dark blue as Indy with no brown so maybe its true. Thanks for the compliment I wihs more would try showing to increase numbers in that class.

(Billjr, I've deleted your multiple posts)

Indeed, blue chickens' feathers turn bronzy in the sun, unfortunately. Many folks who show leave them indoors until after show season. My blue boy, Jethro, has gorgeous blue feathers, but he's now quite bronzy - I should get a pic of him now to show the difference. They can also get that effect in their feathers if they are fed too much corn (like in scratch, or fed just as a treat).

Sooo, they wouldn't be bronzey in the beginning then, as a chick? It's just a hint of it that I can see on two of my Blue JG chicks heads and they are only 1 week old. The other is much darker.

Kathy I wonder as well I would really love to take Colbalt but with the bronze feathers I am afraid he would be DQ
edit to add:
Just PM"D NYReds as he is an APA judge I am sure he will know I will let you know what he says Micki
