Bill, how did you get so many splash JG's?

I only have the two chicks so far. The new pics are the same chicks. One looks like a blue and one looks like a splash. I got the eggs in an Ebay auction from JS Seed and Supply in NJ. I recieved four, two were "quitters" but it could have been from the power outtage. I had to rehome my incubator temporarily. I have eight more eggs incubating that I bought from SplashGiants from BYC. Can't wait till they hatch. They are due on March 8th.

When they are grown and laying/mating I'll get you some eggs if you can wait. We also need to see what the splash looks like later.

Question to all of you:

How big should the nest box be for a Jersey Giant?

Well, I have a big huge nest that they use. It is probably 24" square. I also have it only 6 inches off the floor. It seems to work fine. Often, there are 2 at a time in it!

What mine is .... it is an old bookshelf, with the shelf removed. The bookshelf was a short one. I just removed the shelf and put it in as a nest. I believe it is about 2 foot x 18" or something like that. I put a 5 inch "lip," on the bottom shelf, to hold in the nesting material.
