Okay, so on my above chicks...the 3 blue JG and 1 Splash...can you tell yet what looks like male or female?? Is there any easy way to tell in the beginning w/this breed? Thanks!

Hey every body! I have chicks hatching under a broody on sat next week. I think i put atleast 1 JG egg under her and its got a baby in it! I am not sure if its just JG or JG and buff cochin. So we will see. Do you guys have ant pics of JG egg colors? Thanks!

Just had to post We got back from the Newnan Georgia show late last night. There were over 2400 birds there. Our Blue Giant cockerel Indy took Best of Breed and Best Variety again and our splash hen Jane took Reserve breed and Best Variety. We also took a very young splash giant cockerel to see how he did, he took reserve variety to the hen but he will be in other shows. There was alot of interest in the giants. Alot of people couldnt believe his color as they had only seen white and black. Wish there were more people showing giants you have to have a certain number of entries to be elligible for class champion. I know he could hold his own if there were just a few more being shown. ANyway hes won 2 shows best of breed now. I keep telling DH just wait until hes full grown. heres a pic not a good one but anyway

Kathy they look very good How old are they I can se the splash is very young. I love the dark hen but the lighter one looks good too. The judges seem to like that long dark blue neck in both the roosters and hens. I know I couldnt get over how many people stopped to look at them and take pictures. He is certainly a show stopper. My daughter just emailed me pics of their rooster.Her SO has him so spoiled he had him in the kids bedroom last night and went to bed and forgot him. He spent the night crowing to the kids lavalamp. DD wasnt too happy when he woke her up at 6:00AM crowing.lol I told her to post his pic on here. Her SO takes very good pics and this one shows just how big he is.
Seminole I see you have JG chicks are they breeder or hatchery birds. DD needs some dhen if you have any for sale.
