It wasn't god, jdypat, because there is no god. I am sorry that hapened and I can only imagine your pain. When my son was born 15 weeks premature I was the only one in that hospital (that I know of at least) refusing to pray and refusing prayers from others. I watched as prayed over babies died regularly and my son thrived. I know that it hurts to see all these people acting like a god gave them so many things that are so insignificant when compared to your loss. Just remember, it is what helps them get through the day. It gives them the ability to go on. You will be in my thoughts today. I hope happy memories of him help you get through this horrible day.

jdypat, everyone one of us has lost someone, prayers or no prayers. I am sorry you lost your faith over it, to me that is as tragic as your son's death.

We have lost children in our family. We have lost 3 to still births, my 12 year old nephew to drowning and a 18 year old neice and a 20 year old nephew to car accidents. I lost my Mom, Dad and on June 25th I lost my 56 year old best friend Marge. My faith gets me thru it. We all cope in our own way and I hope you will find a way that helps you survive your pain and bitterness.

lovmychicknkids: if you believe there is no God then what are you doing reading a Jesus has blessed me post?

I am glad your son is doing well, no matter what you believe, I do wonder if your son would not of made it would you of believed in God then.

I believe in God and I would rather place my faith in his love and existance and be safe, then have no faith and find out at the end of time I am wrong. You have a right to believe in what you want to believe in, I won't ask you to believe in God but I will ask you to respect those of us on this post that do. It was an awful thing to read about jdypat's son and her bitterness but to then see your post saying their is no God, well at the most it is disrespectful as the post is clearly for those of us who believe.

I understand jdypat's bitterness and her post but yours could of been sent in a private message rather than slap us in the face with your belief.

First, I am pretty sure I am allowed to read ANY post, regardless of my beliefs. Next, the post was for jdypat.....not to slap you in the face. I am quite certain that I am allowed to post in open forum and not required to hide in a PM just because I am an atheist. I was polite and respectful. I did not say one rude comment toward anyone. Perhaps it is good for you to see anotehr view that differs with your narrow one. I see no harm in stating my thoughts publicly. I was not criticized for posting about how well my oldest son did earlier to help another member with a premature niece. I was the exact same atheist when I posted that comment. I will 100% stand behind my comments and my rights to express them.

I really didn't mean any disrespect to you or your belief, and I didn't mean my post as a criticism to you. I was just wondering is all, as far as my narrow point of view, do you really think you know me well enough to say that. I come from a large family and know many people and not all believe in God. In fact my neice worships Satan, and my daughter is married to a man who is an atheist as well, so to each their own.

I have read many of your posts you, have helped many and I never took that away from you, I even stated that you have a right to your belief and I wouldn't ask you to change it.

So if you took my post as an attack then I am sorry it was not meant that way. From your second post I can only assume that you took it as a slam at you for your belief. I never said anything bad about your belief or rather non belief.

I do wonder how you expected the people who posted to this post to take a remark like
"There is no God". That no matter what you personally believe is disrespectful to the posters who believe, which was everyone up to you. If you would of written that you Personally didn't believe there was a God, then that is your opinion and not a statament of fact.

Again I am really not trying to criticize you, I am just exercising my right to post my, how did you put it, "narrow" point of view.

I really do not have a problem with you not believing in God, but you sure seem to have a problem with me believing in him.


LittleChickenRacingTeam I missed that "Devil saved my life Today" post I will have to look that one up. Good luck with your Devil Chicken I like Deviled eggs as well.

My point was, I am allowed to post in ANY forum. Anyone who claims I should not because I have a different view seems to be taking a rather narrow view of things. My post was not intended to disrespect but to show a poster who is obviously hurting that not everyone thinks the world is controlled. Nature is brutal and that is why we hurt. Anyone who has felt that deep hurt deserves to know that at least some do not think they were being ignored by, or lost favor with, some god. I was not told I should change my views but that I should hide then in a PM instead of stating them publicly. That is what I took offence to.

Great post! I'm thankful everyday.
It is true that counting your blessings makes a world of difference.

Today I'm thankful that my daughter who left Wi 2 weeks ago to fight the wildfires in Ca (being a certified firefighter) made it home safely, although on crutches, cause she blew a knee out on a 700ft decent down the mountain....Thanks be to God....for her experience with helping others out of state and a safe return!
