That's funny, but my Bible don't word these scriptures in that way and its a King James Version. Maybe those are from a Catholic Bible?

This forum post was not, I believe, originated to argue theology, or the prudence of believing in a God. This forum was posted for folks who wanted to contribute and describe how they felt blessed. I suggest, if one wants to argue a point about theology, that you start a post for that very thing. You are free to do so and noone can stop you at all! If you have some valuable information to impart at that time, then you can discuss the pros and cons of organized religion at that time.

Not saying you can't post here but its kind of silly to argue or try to discuss something of this nature. People have been arguing this since the beginning of time and have not resolved or agreed upon the issue. Why try to do it on a Backyard Chicken forum? Not exactly the time or place, is it?

If you don't want to read about people feeling blessed by God, don't bother to read and, please, if you can avoid it, don't make this a post that has to be shut down?

I don't think it's a problem of reading it's being allowed to freely express your beliefs and that is what he has done as you and many others have, King James is a version as has already been stated and it's an altered idea that seems to fall into the same category, it must be the truth according to some but not others, and while said person did have a thread somewhere and many of the people on here posted on it almost chastising it seemed, and then to not allow that person to post here is ridicule. as in hear me but don't here you. now before anyone gets spanked allow others the same courtesy that you demand for yourselves.

As SCgamecock said most of the old testament laws were a covenent between the
lord and the Isrealites.

However
Ephesians 5:22-24 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

is a New Testament passage, not part of the Gospels which are the only books of
the bible I personally take at face value. So, with that said, how the hell do I get my wife
to submit to my will. I've asked Jesus over and over but all he does is send me the
patience and love to deal with her. I'm sure he's doing the same for her too.

Remember, God gave us all free will. Practice it wisely.

when Jesus was speaking to his people he took the hardest thing for both men and women to do and addressed this.. It is most hard for a woman to submit to her husband and it is most hard for a man to love his wife and lay his life down for her.. and there is another passage that says we need to submit to each other. So Jesus knew what was going to be the hardest for each other and spoke on those.

You're right. I've heard a lot of different "takes" on this passage and the others like
it. There is also a lot of symbolism and cultural issues that don't carry very well into
todays world.

I wonder what Jesus would say to us today...

Beekissed this thread just happened to pop up after a member posted "The devil spared
my life today" on another thread which became a sour debate and the mods were forced
to delete it. Let's not kid ourselves that there were some alterior motives here.

I wasn't bothered by any of it. Actually I was quite amused.
God had blessed me and continues to bless me every day.

I think all are blessed in many different ways, some just don't notice it. life is good and should be enjoyed in a fruitful manner that respects all aspects of life and wellbeing.

Jesus would be saying, "What is wrong with you people? I was sent to teach you about God. But you keep praying to me. You are praying to the wrong guy-it's God you need to pray to!!!"

Ah, PC! Didn't know that! I don't get on here as often as most folks, so I didn't know this was an "agenda" post. I don't normally participate in those! I just thought it was a "happy" post....I will bow out gracefully and take my spirituality where it will do the most good...to the real world! Bye, all! Thanks, PC, for the heads up!

I really enjoy reading LCRT's posts about anything. Even if I don't agree with it. In fact I like reading alot of posts here even if I don't agree with what is said. My bible says I should accept all people as children of God. And that means accepting people that I don't agree with.
