JESUS Blessed my Life this week

I put my washing machine in the prayer box at church. Everyone laughed at me, in a nice way, but one just has to have faith. The following week my mother came to visit from across the state. I had told her about my washing machine not spinning out and making a horrible metallic sound when it did manage to spin. When she came for a visit, she just casually looked in my tub, as she knows a few handy things about machines. She happened to notice that one of the holes was not open and found a nail head there....with the nail shaft projecting down out of the tub. Picked out the nail and....instant healing! I had examined that tub a thousand times but hadn't noticed that one little thing. God made my mom a busy body with an inquisitive nature, then he sent her to heal my machine!

The best part was that, as soon as I put the prayer in the box, I stopped worrying about how I could afford another machine. I knew God would provide for us when I could not afford to do so myself. Also, the very next Sunday, someone was getting rid of an older, but good, machine and offered it to me and I got to feel the love of my fellow Christians. I didn't need his machine but someone else will surely benefit from it. Blessings x 2!

Beekissed, what a great story. I'll remember that next time I hear a funny noise in our machine!

Buff,

This analogy also helps me: I want to hear from my children even if they want to tell me some minor thing that happened to them during their day . I hope I do not hear from them only when a crisis happens. That is how relationships build, sharing small and big events.

God is the same. He wants to hear from His children when the small things happen that do not seem important to anyone else, they are important to Him. You build that relationship bridge when you trust Him with everything, small and big.

If I couldn't lean and trust on the Lord to get me through my many little trials how could I have faith to trust He'd get me through my big trials?

In my life when I said "perspective" (not included in my quote" I should have been more clear I am sorry for that.. when I was a kid I did get blessings.. even tho I was and "athiest-budhist" but today I have given my life over to Jesus... and when I look back at my life and the things that I was blessed with. I see where God put those blessings in my life and gave me certain strengths.. Just like in the previous post about a washing maching. Where God had given her mother a certain type of personality and sent her to visit just so she could find that nail. God gave me certain blessings so that I could do work for his kingdom.. Gymnastics was one of my blessings.. I have no idea how my parents afforded that. It was super expensive and traveling and meets every weekend in other cities/states/regions but today I have sports in my blood. My husband and I are in charge of all sports in our church. For years (about 15) after Gymnastics I thought that it was a waste of my time today I see why.. I see why God had certain people in my life .. he has a way of organizing things..

This is just a simple thing, but a blessing all the same - it is raining! It rained all day yesterday and all last night. We need it badly - we've been hauling water to the cows because the spring-fed tank wasn't keeping up and our pastures and everyone's crops around here really could use this rain!

Chevygirlbeth - I'm so thrilled you're blessed with the rain you need so much. It's amazing how often in the psalms rain is mentioned as a life-giving blessing. And would you believe, today (and this whole week) we here in Vermont are blessed with nice sunny weather so we can start to get caught up on all the stuff we couldn't do outside, in the garden, etc due to non-stop days of pouring rain! Almost a record-breaker for the summer. Many of our farmers couldn't get in any hay and other crops were affected, so this sunshine is a beautiful blessing...I'm going right out there, armed with a mask, and clean out 1/2 our coop and get it ready to bring out our month old chicks, another blessing. Let's all praise God!

I, too, find the rain to be a blessing! We were getting so dry here the grass is tan! I took a "rainy day" break from life, did all the things I haven't had time to do, called an old friend and reconnected (talked about our faith) and both of us felt so good for having talked! Called all the other people I've been putting off until I "had the time" and that felt good also.

I think rainy days are God's way of saying, slow down, listen to the rhythm of my world, listen to your heart for once and have peace.

I'm lovin' my rainy day!

That's a great way of putting it!

It's raining again today and it looks like we may get a little more tomorrow. I am so grateful for that - I just wish I could have time to slow down and enjoy it like I would like to! I have to work (outside) tonight, otherwise I would love to go home and try to relax a little. At least it is one part of my job I do enjoy, so that makes it a little better (we're having a pasture walk tonight, so I get to hang out with other farmers and talk about grass production and grazing!).

Cheepcheep, I'm glad you're getting the sunshine you need! It was like that the first part of this summer for us... it really delayed hay harvest. Since the end of July or so, it just hasn't rained here.
