Hi all, Im John from the UK, Hartlepool to be precise but that wont mean much to most of you, its in the North East of England.
I have been keeping chickens for the last 3 years but recently had all my hard work wiped out by a fox one afternoon when my chux were out free ranging and it killed a grand total of 21 - leaving me with a cream legbar cock, a light sussex hen and 2 cuckoo araucana chicks/pullets.
Every cloud has is a silver lining as they say and I soon aquired a substancial amount of "ginger layers", another light sussux, a black rock, and 18 mixed bantams (various pekins, silkies) 1 very large RIR cock and 2 other mixed cocks and 5 ducks (1 runner 4 aylesbury) from a guy who was retiring from the game.
I will be mainly in the duck section as I have never kept them before and Im on the look out for info from current owners to guide me so forgive me if I ask anything stupid.
