One other question, if I take weights again tomorrow, can I assume a chick is growing if there is a decrease in weight? There are a few dark olive eggs that I know I won’t be able to see into. If they don’t drop weight, that means there is nothing growing, correct? Thanks!

I'm hatching 4 eggs right now too (my first time). They're going to be Easter Egger/Black Australorp crosses. They only have a week left to go!

From the pictures, I'd agree. It probably won't hurt to leave them in until the next candling, though.

I found that if you hold the egg on a slight angle like in the drawing, then you should be able to see it pretty clearly.

Thanks! I am going to let the kids do the drawing, and I’ll do the holding. Only because I really don’t want anyone to feel horrible if they accidentally drop an egg and think they killed their chick. Or for other kids to be mad at them. I want to include them as much as possible!
