Chelation is a way to extract or neutralize heavy metals in the body. Here is a discussion from 2017 about that problem in chickens, evidently called Hardware Disease (I can imagine why!) And Here is a post on a vet blog about chelation and toxicity in birds due to lead and zinc.

Kao-pect is used to reduce diarrhea. It acts by absorbing water to make more solid stool.
Maybe the vet is thinking along the porridge lines to get the necklace out.

Yeah she’s Been pooping much more now thanks to also the prayers I’ve been doing. Only bad news now is Collier county came to our house today knocking saying we can’t have a chicken where we live at. Guess someone snitched on us for having her even tho we’ve had her for almost 3 years now. My boyfriend says I can move in with them and keep it there and my sister also offered her place, but my mother is being ignorant and isn’t listening that we have to get rid of the chicken at our house. The guy specifically told us we get a citation and a warrant in our home and on the chicken meaning we can’t have the chicken anymore and we have two weeks to get rid of her. My boyfriend offered his place and my sister also offered hers, but my mother is being ignorant and is going to wait it out just to argue with the people who will come with cops and a warrant saying they’re going to take the chicken. My step dad is looking for a new home so we can keep it at our place, but my mom has other ideas and she’s making it worse. It hurts me bc I don’t want to see them take the chicken it’s something I’ll suffer but my mom is so toxic and thinks she owns the whole state. Idk what to do now

I would most likely take her over to your sister's house if she will watch it until your dad finds another house to live in or you are to the point to where you can get a place of your own.

She hasn’t passed it yet I hope so that she will soon, only bad news now is that Collier county knocked on our door today saying we have 2 weeks to get rid of the chicken because the place we live at we can’t have a chicken. Our neighbor or our vet snitched on us even tho we’ve had this chicken for almost 3 years! My sister offered her home, my boyfriend offered his, and my step dad suggested moving. My mom however is being very toxic and acts like she owns the whole state and would rather wait and out and see what they do. We all told her several million times that guy told us we have 2 weeks to get rid of her and if not then we will get a citation and a warrant on our home to be searched and on the chicken meaning we can’t ever get the chicken back. Yet still, my mom wants to wait because she thinks they’re making that up. That’s my major worry now, I have a feeling they’ll take the chicken and it sucks because it will not only affect me so much but the chicken because we have such a close bond. We literally have homes she can stay at but of course my mother is being toxic and wants to wait for the worst to happen.

That’s what I’m saying! My sister and my boyfriend suggested their place and my step dad is looking for places to move at but it’s my mother who’s being the problem, she wants to wait it out and see the warrant and citation but what she doesn’t understand is that once they show up with the paper… there isn’t going back saying “yeah you still have time to take the chicken” once they come they come and take the chicken it stresses me out so much because my mom is being so toxic and ignorant about it.

Can you just take her to your sister so she is safe even though your mother wants to argue it out?

Yes she’s doing better, hasn’t pooped it out yet, only concern now is my toxic mother. My sister and boyfriend both offered their homes to us. I told my mom… we all did, my step dad offered moving meaning we find a new place to live at where they accept our chicken. My mother is being so ignorant and toxic she says she wants to wait out the warrant and see what they do and we all told her if she does that they will take the chicken and we can’t have it back. She acts like she owns the whole state and that a simple “no” would allow her to keep the chicken. Stressed out about this
